Sweden-based PGMS AB, the parent company of Pipeguard AB, has acquired the full shareholding of Finnish technology company Sensoan Oy. The acquisition strengthens PGMS and Pipeguard’s presence in Finland and expands operations into the Baltic region.
Sensoan will continue to operate as an independent company from Salo, Finland, maintaining its current team and customer relationships. The company’s former operational shareholders will continue as employees, and new recruitments will be made to further strengthen the team.
The main objective of the acquisition is to bring Pipeguard’s solutions closer to customers in Finland and the Baltics, while combining Sensoan’s expertise in connectivity, data collection and system integration into a broader international offering.
“The acquisition of Sensoan is a strategic step that strengthens our presence in Finland and enables more efficient delivery of Pipeguard solutions across Northern Europe. At the same time, it opens new opportunities in the Baltic markets,” says Håkan Klarin, CEO of Sensoan Oy.
Sensoan has strong expertise in wireless connectivity, mesh networks and IoT-based system integration in demanding industrial and infrastructure environments.
Going forward, Sensoan will also develop cloud services and integration solutions based on the SADE Innovations Booster IoT Asset, enabling faster deployment and scalable data-driven services for customers.
“Through the acquisition, Sensoan’s expertise will support Pipeguard’s operations through close collaboration, enabling more scalable and data-driven monitoring solutions,” Klarin continues.
“Sensoan’s expertise in mesh networks and IoT-based systems supports the growth of Pipeguard’s business in Europe and China. In addition, we see significant new opportunities in emerging markets such as India. The first mesh-network-based deliveries to European customers are already underway.”
The acquisition is based on a shared vision of market development, the role of technology in monitoring critical infrastructure, and the need for scalable, data-driven solutions.
Sensoan’s operations will continue without interruption, and the company will serve its customers as usual.
